The HAY-inspired vacuum cleaner is a multipurpose appliance designed to match the aesthetic appeal of the Danish brand HAY. The vacuum can work as a cordless lightweight vacuum, hung on the wall, easily accessible for frequent and quick cleanings, as well as a powerful, wired vacuum suitable for thorough cleaning of the entire house.

Two different types of vacuums are merged into one, permitting easy switching between functionality stages, and allowing utilizing only a single engine, and a smaller, lightweight battery. The wheeled canister vacuum is designed to be aesthetically pleasing and, therefore, not necessary to hide away when not in use.

This vacuum has been developed through a design process that incorporates field research, personas, and inspiration from a HAY brand board. The development process involved continuous prototyping and 3D modeling.
